A Rich History
In 1958, when Leo and Virginia Sloan entered the appliance service business, they set out to provide the best service in their market. Over the years, the name “Sloan Appliance Service” became synonymous with quality.
This commitment continued into the sixties, when Whirlpool’s Steve Upton visited the company. Deeply impressed, Upton made Sloan Appliance one of the first authorized service centers in the United States.
Today, Sloan Appliance is owned by Jeffrey Radenbaugh. Armed with a Business Degree and two technicians, Jeff has grown the company to fifteen employees and is more successful than ever.

They are updated weekly on the latest appliance and service news. Factory partnering helps them resolve tough, service related issues quickly. With this knowledge and continuous training, the customer always wins.
We’re the largest independent appliance service company in the Midlands. We are also the exclusive repair and parts resource for premium brand of appliances, such as Viking, Bosch, Sub Zero, Uline, Thermador, Wolf, and Five Star. Other companies will not service many of these brands.
Service
We strive to give the customer service they can’t get anywhere else. From the time your call is received, our office staff has been trained to listen, assist and respond to your service needs. Our on-time rate is over 98% for in-home repairs. We are very proud of that fact because it shows we value your time as much as you do.
We offer full service shop repair. Customers and dealers can drop off any appliance and typically get a same-day diagnosis. For customers we provide same day or next day appointments. We strive to complete eighty percent on the first try.

Our People
A business is only as good as its people. Our continued success is due to our employees. People like Freddie Bernhagen, Jeff’s right-hand man. Freddie knows the customer is not always right, but must be treated right. He handles all parts and warranties. Tina Bernhagen and Charity Foster log seventy to eighty service calls a day. They listen, assist, and respond, scheduling eight technicians to ensure rapid response for customers.
Sloan’s technicians take pride in the fact that they work for a professional organization that is Columbia’s largest and best independent servicer. Sloan’s people believe in the company’s mission and make it work. That has proven to be the difference.
